Biography

Jesse Sky is a contemporary American artist known for his large-scale layered sculptures and intricate Timelesspieces. Blending elements of op art with geometric abstraction, his work bears the influence of important archaic patterns and symbols. Working as both digital artist and sculptor, Sky layers a mixture of shapes and colors into harmonic topographical elements and geometric renderings. “My early work was aimed at overloading my own visual cortex to calm my mind during meditation,” He explained of his work. “I wanted to make art where the viewer would be pulled into the depth of the work, I aim to inspire an artistic experience.” Born on January 4th, 1980 in Newport, Rhode Island, he graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2002, and began pursuing an art career in 2012. The Argosy Foundation unveiled Sky’s Symplex #1 in their Milwaukee headquarters in 2017. The artist currently lives and works on Maui. His works are held in private collections worldwide, the Walker Gallery in Denver, CO, and his Maui studio archive.
